Port Eliot Estate & Festival

We absolutely love Port Elliot Estate and have had some wonderful experiences there. We’ve put up tents for the Dead Man’s Fingers bar, for Newlyn Art Gallery and inside the Fashion walled garden area for the Port Eliot Festival. We’ve also put up a tent for a Dog Festival Roo where an invitation for lunch and canapés is extended to all whippets for a fabulous Whippet tea party.

Our moment of fame… almost

We also set up tent in 2017 for a part of the film Delicious 2 which starred Emelia Fox, Dawn French & Sheila Hancock. Exciting, as we were asked to also be in a scene, pushing up poles in one of the scenes, but sadly when it finally reached our part, the rain was coming down so much they cut our scene out. We lurked around most of the day, trying to spot some action happening under our tent, we got to have lunch in the movie crew bus & enjoyed the experience, except taking the tent down at the end of the day was probably the wettest we’ve ever been.

The tent did look fabulous, we had to build a wooden frame to protect the rose bushes as we put it up, it was fully carpeted with a dance floor in the centre but when we finally got to see the film, we saw a small section of it only, for perhaps 5 seconds where Dawn & Emelia had an argument. Oh well, that’s the movie business.
